Chapter Fourteen

THEA

Thea didn’t know what to expect the next time she saw Cam. To say that she was confused by his behavior would be an understatement—she was puzzled and utterly lost about what had happened, why he’d left. One moment he’d been about to fuck her and the next he was gone, practically running out the door to get away from her. At first, she’d wondered what she did wrong and then she was just pissed.

For an angel, it was shocking he couldn’t even be upfront with her. Passion fueled those kisses, more than she thought he could muster. His body had felt so good against hers and his cock had been magnificent, long, thick, and smooth—the kind of equipment women fantasized about but rarely found. Thea had been looking forward to experiencing it and then he had abandoned her.

“Should we start?” He walked inside before she’d even invited him in. Thea narrowed her eyes at his back but decided that if he wasn’t going to bring it up, if he was going to pretend the whole thing didn’t happen, so was she.

“Sure,” she said, trying to be casual. “What are we doing today?”

“Technique. I noticed your form was a little off in the alley. We can do it here today, if that’s easier.”

“Oh.” His criticism stung, though she knew that was his job. She’d thought they’d worked well together. She wondered if he was being honest or just being petty. Could angels be petty? She shook her head; there was so much she didn’t know.

He began by showing her the correct technique for her hands and tried to explain how to bend her body in sync with the energy she was producing. Thea steadied herself and he stood in front of her, putting his hands on her waist to position her torso to the correct stance. His closeness drove her crazy, his scent and the feeling of his hands sent a shiver straight to her clit. She noticed a fleeting pained expression on his face, as if touching her physically hurt him. He was struggling too. What the hell was going on here?

“I can’t do this.” She pulled away. “Aren’t we even going to talk about the other day?”
